Design Your Future: A Crash Course in Garden Design

  • Big Red Barn at Sister Divine's Farm 41 Lower Sahler Mill Rd Olivebridge United States (map)

Join Jax Hughes from Happy Bear Landscapes for an inspiring workshop at Sister Divine’s Farm that will transform the way you think about your outdoor spaces. Jax will teach us how to create a resilient perennials-based food system to access healthy & delicious fruits, nuts, herbs and greens right outside of your door and in community spaces. His framework for design emphasizes native plants, food abundance and beauty throughout the seasons. Through the "lens" of permaculture principles, all elements of designs are intentionally laid out and mutually support one another. This allows for low-input management systems that require less care throughout the years and which grow more beautiful through time and wildness.

His presentation will be followed by a group conversation about the fundamentals of ecological gardening and design. Jax will be discussing a number of topics (biodiversity, native vs. nonnative plants, four-season gardening)

This event is for anyone with a passion for plants and/or an interest in designing beautiful outdoor spaces! Whether you're a beginner gardener or a master gardener, this is a perfect time to begin collecting inspiration for the upcoming growing season.

Suggested donation: $20, All proceeds go to the instructor. If you prefer to pay less, please email us at info@krumvillecommunity.org to arrange.
