Gardening 101 - Starting your Garden this Spring

Learn vegetable gardening at Sister Divine’s farm with Garden Pro, Lisa Taranto. 

The first in our summer series, Lisa will teach all you need to get your garden started!

  • Preparing your beds for planting

  • Dividing plants & seedlings from starts

  • Starting seeds for warm weather planting

  • Companion & succession planting

  • Getting the most space in your garden

  • Thinning & sharing volunteer plants

  • Direct sowing cool season crops

  • Planting rhizomes 

  • Why soil testing and pH are important, amending soil as needed

Bring gardening gloves, any of your favorite hand tools and a notebook.

Bring 2 soil samples from your garden for testing.

  1. fill an old jar about 1/3 full and we will do a texture test

  2. fill an old jar 1/3 full for the pH test
